| The Journey Church |
| The Journey Church is a
cutting edge, contemporary
church in St. Louis which
began with a vision to reach
people who were disillusioned by the
traditional church. If you
have ever wanted to attend
a real “Rock and Roll” church, this is the place to
check out. |
The church building was
classical in style, including
marble floors and granite
walls. Great for a simple
Mass, but too reflective for
the Journey’s rock-androll,
contemporary worship
service. Faced with these challenges, David Myers,
Director of Installation at CTS Audio, came up with a four-phase plan. |
Finally, to reduce stage
noise, an Aviom in-ear
monitoring system was
employed along with fully
isolated guitar mplifiers,
and shielded drums. “Now
you can walk up on stage
while the full band is playing
and the stage is virtually
silent,” says David.

Church, related an instance
in which the CTS Audio
system made a particular
impact. “A gentleman was
driving by the building in his
car and heard the music coming from the sanctuary.The sound was so good, he
felt that he had to stop and
come in. He’s been coming
here ever since.”

| After meeting in various
schools and gymnasiums
throughout the city, last
year, the church was able
to purchase an historic,
vacant, former Catholic
Church building. This is
where CTS Audio got the
call for help! |
First, acoustical
treatments were applied
throughout the sanctuary
to handle the vibrant
worship style. Next, a JBL
VRX line array system was flown to disperse sound
evenly throughout the room.
The line array system
interfaced with a Yamaha
M7CL-48 digital mixing
console. Third, CTS
installed a video system
comprised of a Sanyo video
projector and FSR scaling
and switching components. |
